Picasso Marble Frog with Tadpole by Verla Lasiloo Jim, Deceased – Zuni Fetish Outlet Amazing Pice

A brown, tan and black tinged Picasso marble frog with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Verla Lasiloo Jim. The mother frog has its turquoise tad pole inlaid to the top of its back – held in place by a lovely offering bundle featuring coral and turquoise beads and penn shell heishi. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same – development wise – we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
